LACROSSE 101! - 4 Basic Skills to Teach Beginners (3:19)

  1. Passing/ Throwing
  2. Catching
  3. Scooping
  4. Cradling

These skills can all be practiced at home. Throwing and catching can be practiced against a brick wall, with a rebounder, or with a partner. Throwing and catching can be practiced with a parent or sibling even if they don’t know how to throw and catch with a crosse. They can use a baseball/softball mitt to catch and throw with their hand. The important thing is for the player to get practice catching and throwing. If you do not have a lacrosse ball, ask a coach for one.
